AP classes (and their associated exams) help students prepare for the rigors of college and may earn them credit (or advanced placement) at their college of choice.

Arts and Humanities

  • 2D Design
  • 3D Design
  • Band
  • Choir
  • Guitar

Keystone Exams

Keystone exams are end-of-course assessments designed to assess student proficiency in algebra, biology, and literature. Students must demonstrate proficiency in these areas to graduate. Students who do not pass their Keystone exams may be scheduled to retest.

Academic Pathways

At DAHS, we believe all students can be successful, but we also know that not all paths lead to college. We offer our students a variety of ways to explore their passions and build the skills they’ll need to find their path to success.

Career Clusters

Career clusters are one of the ways we help students get the most out of their high school experience. Clusters guide students through a recommended sequence of courses based on their interests and long-term goals. At DuBois, we offer the following clusters:

  • Agriculture/Natural Resources
  • Arts/Communication
  • Business/Finance
  • Education/Human Services
  • Government/Public Administration
  • Health Science
  • Manufacturing/Construction

Career Technical Education

Career Technical Education (CTE) prepares students to enter the workforce immediately after graduation or to pursue further education at a community college or university. We combine classroom instruction with work-based learning experiences and personal leadership development to help ensure a dynamic workforce for the future. DuBois students take CTE courses through Jeff Tech.

Dual-Credit

Upperclassmen at DAHS can get a jump start at college through dual-credit courses. These dual-enrollment opportunities allow students to receive high school and college credit at the same time! These credits can be transferred to a variety of state universities. Dual-credit opportunities are offered through the Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania Western University, Indiana University of PennsylvaniaPenn State University, Butler County Community College, and Mount Aloysius College.

Virtual Academy

Students may participate in our free "cyber education" program as an alternative to regular school,  to make up missed credits, extend their learning opportunities with electives, or receive tutoring. Virtual Academy is a great option for students in need of flexible scheduling. For more information, contact our Virtual Academy Director, Leigh Anne May, at (814) 371-8111.

Work Release

Our work release program is designed for students who are interested in gaining job experience while still in high school. Qualifying seniors may opt for a reduced school schedule and use the remaining hours of their school day to work in the community. We do not help students find a job, nor do we provide transportation for this program. Learn more from your school counselor.
